McDermott confirmed his casting on Monday during a Sirius XM interview.

What’s more, he will also be reuniting with fellow AHS star, Jessica Lange for the comedy series which has already landed a two-season order.

But the big names don’t stop there:

Gwyneth Paltrow and January Jones are also part of the cast, according to McDermott. If this does turn out to be true, it shows that Netflix is going all in with programming to bring some of TV’s finest to the small screen.

Each season of the series will follow a different political race, and how the characters go to extreme measures to get the results they want.

“It’s kind of mirroring what’s happening in the White House right now,” McDermott said, confirming the series will take current events into consideration.

But McDermott’s character could emerge as the most interesting one of the bunch. He’s apparently a “con man” and “living a life that’s just a lie.”

He went on to reveal that Jones is playing his wife who was a one-time female escort who he hired to attend a fundraiser with him.

It certainly sounds like the humor is going to be on the nose, but all Ryan Murphy shows come with some of the best one-liners on all of television, so there’s that.

McDermott previously worked with Murphy on American Horror Story. He appeared on American Horror Story Season 1, American Horror Story Season 2, and American Horror Story Season 8.
