Welcome back to Fun with Calendaring. May 4 is now widely known as May the Fourth, a lispy play on "May the Force be with you." March 10 recently evolved into the Nintendo-centric Mario Day, because "Mar10." And let's not forget the best day in the whole wide world: March 14, otherwise known as Pi Day (because of the eponymous mathematical formula that begins with 3.14). What's so great about that? All you have to do is say it out loud and it becomes "Pie Day."
Hence an abundance of deals and promotions centered around pizzas and baked goods. Below I've rounded up some of my favorites, as I do every year, though this list is by no means complete. There may be local stores and restaurants offering discounts and giveaways as well, so check in with your nearby pizza joints, bakeries and the like.

Pi Day pizza deals
What's better than pizza? Nothing. It's the perfect food. You can even make it healthy(ish) if you're weird and like to load it up with veggies. (Actually, I typically opt for light cheese and extra sauce, so I may be the weird one.) Here are the best Pi Day pizza deals I've found:
Blaze Pizza: On Pi Day, the chain is offering any regular-size pizza for $3.14. You'll need to download the Blaze Pizza app, create an account and access the deal in the Rewards section.
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse: Like last year, you can get a mini one-topping pizza for $3.14. This upscale restaurant does deep-dish and flatbread-style pizzas. To get the $3.14 deal, you'll need to dine in on March 14.
Hungry Howie's: A $3.14 medium one-topping pizza with the purchase of Howie Bread. Use promo code 19PI.
Marco's Pizza: Buy any large pizza at menu price and get a second one (of equal or lesser value) for only $3.14. Use promo code code PIDAY2020.
MOD Pizza: Use the DoorDash app (or website), spend at least $3.14 and then apply promo code MODPIDAY to get a free 11-inch pizza with "infinite" toppings. Alas, this offer is limited to just 5,000 free pizzas, so good luck with that.
Outer Aisle: Looking for a healthier pizza option? Outer Aisle makes cauliflower-based crusts. From March 11-21, you can get 20% off your entire order by using promo code PIDAY at checkout.
Other Pi Day deals
Turns out there are other kinds of pies: fruit, chicken pot and so on. These are some notable deals on them:
The Fresh Market: On March 14, you can save $3.14 on the store's 9-inch apple and cherry pies and chicken pot pies.
More to come! In the meantime, have you found any other Pi Day deals worth mentioning? Mention them in the comments!
